SWEET DOG'S TAIL AND EARS CUT OFF BY DRUNKEN CONSTRUCTION WORKER IN BALI

Animal welfare in Bali has a long way to go to ensure the rights of all animals are respected and upheld.

In April 2024, BAWA (Bali Animal Welfare Association) recently reported an incident as follows:

We were recently alerted to a sadistic case of intentional mutilation and disfigurement of a puppy carried out by a drunken construction worker, and once again, we've reached a new low on the animal welfare front in Bali. We were also told that the plan was to eat the dog once she was older.

Our team immediately rushed to poor Perry's location, and the construction workers there admitted that her ears and tail were cut off while drunk. No sedation. No surgical precision. No concern for the physical and psychological distress such a brute act would cause on a small puppy.

Perry is now safe with BAWA. She is under treatment, and we are trying to save what’s left of her tail. However, we must see if the infection can be treated without causing her more pain. Perry is demonstrating incredible resilience in the face of so much trauma so early in her life, and we are encouraged by her sweet and enthusiastic tail wags when it's feeding time or when someone comes to visit her.

Your continued support fuels our #RescueRehabRehome mission, ensuring that animals like Perry receive the care and second chance they deserve.
