Street Feeding Program.
Every day, thousands of dogs are saved from starvation and death thanks to local street feeding programs.
Our street feeding program prevents starvation for stray dogs by repurposing unwanted and leftover food from local hotels and restaurants to provide these animals with regular meals.
Partnering with hotels and restaurants across the island, we collect surplus food that would otherwise go to waste and redistribute it to local street feeders.
This collaborative effort allows us to feed hundreds, if not thousands, of additional dogs each week.
By combining sustainability with compassion, we not only nourish Bali's strays but also foster a sense of community and care for these vulnerable animals.
Support our street feeding program
Although we are fortunate to receive leftover food from hotels and restaurants, our street feeding program continually relies on donations to cover the cost of essentials like rice and dry dog food. These supplements are crucial for ensuring a nutritionally balanced diet for the dogs we feed.
Meet Ken from TLC House Dog Rescue.
Every day, Ken from TLC House collects leftover food and scraps from hotels and restaurants around Jimbaran and Kuta and repurposes it to feed starving dogs.
This is Ken, a rescuer and street feeder who is the absolute embodiment of kindness, and compassion.
Originally from the US, Ken established TLC House as a result of the heartbreaking reality for handicapped and senior dogs in Bali: he observed countless handicapped and senior dogs wandering the streets, hungry, injured and suffering. For Ken, they were souls in desperate need of compassion and a safe space.
Driven by a profound sense of purpose, Ken founded TLC Rescue and transformed his home into a sanctuary for handicapped and senior animals. Today, his home bustles with life as around 50 dogs find shelter, safety and love under his care. Each dog has its story—most were found starving and mistreated. For Ken, every bark, wagging tail, or even the shy glance of a once-traumatized dog, is a reminder of why he chose this path.
However, Ken’s work extends far beyond TLC House. Ken is also supporting our food repurposing program in conjunction with hotels and restaurants around Bali to help build our unique food rescue network.
Every day, Ken makes rounds on his trusty motorbike, collecting leftover food that would otherwise go to waste, which he then redistributes for daily street feeding. What began as a humble initiative has grown into a lifeline for the hundreds of animals he feeds daily, as well as for other street feeding programs, who he now collaborates with.
Despite the challenges—limited resources, endless vet bills, and the sheer emotional toll of witnessing suffering—Ken remains steadfast. His efforts have inspired a community of supporters who admire his unwavering dedication.
Ken’s journey is a testament to the extraordinary impact one person can make when guided by compassion. In a world that often turns a blind eye, Ken has chosen to see, to act, and to care—and in doing so, he’s changed the lives of countless dogs, and perhaps a few humans, too.
