Our Founders.
Protecting Paws was founded in 2022 by two lifelong friends and animal lovers who decided they could no longer ignore the desperate plight of stray and abandoned dogs in Bali.
Tammy
Tammy has a long history in the travel industry, having worked with Flight Centre and Qantas, allowing her to explore the world and experience diverse cultures. Throughout her travels, Tammy has always been drawn to animals in need—whether a stray dog, cat, or even a possum. Helping these creatures has always been a passion, and Tammy has made it a point to make a positive impact wherever she goes.
After having children, Tammy’s focus shifted to raising a family, but now her kids are adults, she is back in the workforce, working as a support person in the disability sector. This new role has been incredibly rewarding and meaningful as Tammy continues to make a meaningful difference to the lives of others.

Madeline
Madeline has been a passionate advocate for animals for her entire life. Her journey began as a young child, when she would rescue injured birds and small creatures she found in her backyard, nurturing them back to health. During her teens, her dedication to all living things expanded to include dogs, cats, and even possums, and she volunteered at her local animal shelter, gaining hands-on experience in animal care and welfare. Beyond domestic animals, her love for wildlife led her to participate in volunteer conservation programs, including a project in Africa, where she contributed to valuable research into protection of endangered species. She dreams one day of an world where all animals live can exist surrounded by compassion, care and kindness.
